About Bangkok:

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and is hence accessible from all around the world. Public transport system is reasonably good, however, you will find it difficult to commute in buses if you do not know the local language. On the eastern side of the city, there is BTS skytrain which you can rely on for urban commutation.

Economy of the trip:

Bangkok maybe a tad expensive compared to other cities in Thailand, but still, it is cheap in international standards. If you have to commute along the areas serviced by the BTS skytrain, it is economical to take a day pass.

Things you shouldn’t miss in Bangkok:

Apart from the usual city shopping, if you are ready to go to the outskirts, Bangkok provides wonderful sightseeing opportunities. Take a tourist package to get you to the Tiger temple, river Kwai bridge and the floating market.

Overall:

If you are really short of time, you may even consider dropping Bangkok out of your travel list provided you want to spend the time in islands in the west coast or Pattaya for the nightlife.
